The Work Triangle
The kitchen work triangle is a concept used to determine efficient kitchen layouts that are both aesthetic and functional. The primary tasks in a home kitchen are carried out between the cook top, the sink and the refrigerator.
As designers, we’re aware of the hours you spend in your kitchen each day and identify with your need for a kitchen that understands you, your household structure, your cuisine, and even your culinary instinct. It, therefore, gives us immense pleasure to hand-craft these kitchens for ‘You’ - the Contemporary Indian homeowner.

At Denkali, we’re clear that one size doesn’t fit all. So it’s imperative that we ask all the right questions before we get started -
A nuclear working family? A joint family of 6? A working couple? A retired single? A simple question like this gives us clues to what kind of food is cooked and how much is consumed, stored and re-used.
A hands-on member of the house? A speed cooking part-timer? Or the Maharaj/Khansama/Bawarchi whose been in your family for generations? Are they tall or short? Each one of them cooks, cleans and handles the kitchen very differently.
Is there enough space for a single counter only, or should we open up the space and combine it with the dining to make it feel larger? Does it have a view? Does it have a utility? Where does the water and gas line come from? Is the place safe for Kids?
A space that you identify with and reflects your personality? Or a space that speaks of its function only.
What kind of materials should we use here? What kind of equipment do we use here? Can we create an intelligent kitchen?
